JAMES WALKER WINS MILLTEK GOLF DRIVE

Milltek Sport has revealed the identity of the winner of its ‘Win a Drive’ competition, and he is no stranger to the Volkswagen Racing Cup. James Walker, the 2012 champion, will pilot Milltek's fully supported Golf GTI in the Milltek Volkswagen Racing Cup.

All eight candidates were required to undergo a variety of tests at Donington Park, from driving ability to PR and media-handling. The standards were extremely high across the board, said Milltek, adding: “Milltek Sport would like to thank all the competitors for making it such an enjoyable day, Volkswagen Racing for their excellent hospitality and support, Tom Onslow-Cole for casting his expert eye, KPM Racing for managing the race cars and everyone else involved in the whole process. Congratulations to James and we wish him all the best in the hot seat.”

Walker’s seven rivals for the driver were:

• Paul Rees, FIA GT and GT Open
• Nick Ponting, electric land speed record holder
• Louise Richardson, Ginetta G50
• Jake Honour, Clio Cup
• Anna Walewska, Britcar
• Chris Knox, Mini Challenge
• Jamie Martin, VAG Trophy
