MILLTEK SPORT CONTINUES VOLKSWAGEN RACING CUP PARTNERSHIP FOR A FURTHER TWO SEASONS

As the curtain falls on the most successful season yet of the Volkswagen Racing Cup, title sponsor Milltek Sport has underlined its faith in the championship by announcing a new two-year deal with Volkswagen Racing UK to sponsor the series and become the sole supplier of exhausts to competitors.

Performance exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport became title sponsor at the start of 2014 after 10 years of involvement, and has seen the championship’s grid size expand to an average of 30 cars, making it one of the best-supported saloon championships in the country.

Now Milltek has confirmed its backing for the 2015 and ’16 seasons. “It’s a great alignment with our core market,” said Milltek Sport managing director Steve Pound, “and it allows us to interact with more of the end-users of our products. It also gives us a technical partnership with Volkswagen Racing UK which has enabled us to prove the quality of our product in one of the toughest single-marque race series in the UK.

“We are putting together a package to provide registered competitors with exhaust systems at a subsidised price and we look forward to seeing all the cars on the grid using our systems from 2015 onwards.”

Championship manager Matthew Walker said: “It’s fantastic to be able to confirm this far ahead of the new season that Milltek Sport will be on board again with the Volkswagen Racing Cup as title sponsor.
