Race career

An engineer by profession and a former rally driver and experienced motorcycle racer, Chaplin first contested the Volkswagen Racing Cup in 2004, taking in two races at the wheel of a Vento VR6. 2006 was his first full season with his Beetle RSi, claiming a best race finish of sixth.
